Stephen Boyle is a San Francisco Bay Area photographer. He has been creating beautiful color and black & white landscape images for over 20 years. Stephen also shoots architecture and interiors.
Born in Glasgow Scotland, Stephen obtained his degree in 1989 and moved to Canada later the same year. He established his photography business in Ottawa and displayed his work in the Ottawa Byward Market. Until Stephen presented his photography to the Byward Market panel of judges, no photographer had been given a place in the Market. In 2001 Stephen relocated to the United States, and has called California Wine Country and the San Francisco Bay Area home for the past 10 years.
When Stephen began his photography career he employed the methods of the traditional darkroom. Today he uses digital capture and digital processing techniques to achieve the same effects that were previously obtained using film, a darkroom, and an enlarger. Although seeing an image appear in the developing tray was always a magical experience, he does not miss the smell of photographic chemicals.
Stephen's portfolio includes images from Europe, North America, Central America, and Australia. His photographs are on display in homes and offices around the world. One of his images resides in the Canadian National Archives.
